Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all! In addition to ADHD and Autism (Level 1), I also specialize in trauma recovery and couples/relationship counselling, and I see clients with all sorts of presenting problems such as anxiety, depression, and chronic stress.

  • Currently all appointments are offered virtually, by our secure video conferencing software or by phone.

  • Yes! I work with adults and teenagers (aged 13 and older).

  • Confidentiality is essential to making sure teenaged clients feel safe talking about sensitive issues with their therapist. For this reason, I never share information discussed in appointments with a parent without the teen’s consent (unless there is an imminent risk of serious harm).

You may sometimes be invited to join an appointment to discuss a difficult topic with your teen.

  • Your free consultation will begin with a quick overview of the limits of confidentiality. I will then encourage you to share what has brought you to therapy, and what goals you might have in mind. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about me and my therapeutic approach.

When the consultation is over, take all the time you need to decide if you’d like to book a full appointment. I encourage you to talk to several therapists in order to find the best fit for you. Please don’t hesitate to email me with any additional questions you might have!

  • After the appointment is booked, you will be emailed a link to the client information and consent form. Please read and fill this out before your appointment. You’ll want to have a credit card handy to enter your payment information into the system when you do this.

Once the forms are complete, I recommend making sure you have a quiet, private place with a stable internet connection for an online appointment. It can be useful to test out the video conferencing software the day before to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Apart from that, you don’t need to make any preparations. Just bring yourself, and together we can figure out the rest!

  • It depends on your particular insurance plan. I highly recommend double-checking the details of your plan to make sure your insurance covers appointments with Registered Psychotherapists.

Please note that you will need to submit the receipts to your insurance company for reimbursement after the fact.

  • I offer a limited-duration sliding scale option for clients who are not able to pay the regular fees for therapy. If you are between jobs and/or insurance will not cover our appointments, please feel free to ask about the possibility of reduced fees.
